•Do not let chlorine dry onto your suit. Keep your suit damp until you can rinse it out! Hop in & out of the water or shower off when exiting a pool.
•If wearing swimwear more than two days in a row, have at least two suits and rotate one suit per day. Spandex requires about a day to dry thoroughly and return to its original shape.
•Remove sand from your swimwear before washing in the machine, when your swimwear is dry, gently stretch and flick the garment and the sand will easily fall away.
•Avoid sitting on rough surfaces at the beach and pool. Prevent snagging and pilling by placing a towel or pareo beneath your bottom.
•Keep sunscreen and tanning oils on your skin and off your suit. Put on sunscreen before you put on your swimsuit. Allow the product to absorb into your skin so it doesn’t rub off and stain your suit.
•If you cannot rinse your suit immediately after use, store it damp in a plastic bag until you can rinse it thoroughly.
Insider Tips
We highly recommend you wear last year’s suit as this year’s hot tub suit! The chemicals used in hot tubs combined with the high heat quickly destroys swimwear fabrics.

Swimwear Care
While the eventual demise of most swimwear is something of a moot point (no fabric can hold up against chlorine forever), there are simple measures you can take to greatly lengthen the lifetime of your swimsuit. All suits purchased at Nani Nalu feature resistance treatments protecting your suit from salt, chlorine and UV fading.
Always HAND WASH your suit in clean water after each use. Doing so will eliminate most of the salt or chlorine - the principle chemicals that affect the nylon and spandex fibers. If you need to use a detergent, use a natural, alcohol & fragrance free one, like our recommended KOPA cleaner. Lay your suit flat to dry, out of direct sunlight to keep its color and shape.
